At the heart of our Danish Oil  is a natural Tung Oil and a low-odour biodegradable solvent. This great combination results in a finish that not only embodies strength and durability but also offers superb protection. The deep and penetrating nature of this finish ensures a thin layer that steadfastly resists any notion of chipping, flaking, or peeling.

    1. Sand your work down to your desired grit. We recommend 400 grit.

      

    2. Apply the oil using a paper towel or rag;

      

    3. After a few minutes, remove excess oil from the surface of the piece;

      

    4. Allow 20 minutes between coats and apply a maximum of 2 before allowing to cure;

      

    5. Leave to cure thoroughly for at least 24-48 hours before buffing and putting into use. Curing time will vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity;

      

    6. Recoat as required.

      

    7. For best results, use within 6 months of

      purchase.

  • Use on fruit and salad bowls or items requiring a more satin finish. It can, however, be buffed to a gloss after many coats.

  • Translucent pale brown in the tin. It slightly darkens the wood when it is applied—characteristic aroma of solvents and waxes.

  • Supplied in a 500ml 'berg top' tin bottle.

    Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.

  • Kept according to instructions, it is best used within six months after opening the product. Due to the curing nature of the product, it will thicken over time.
